On3 launched its first-ever girls’ basketball recruiting rankings on Thursday afternoon, spearheaded by Talia goodman who continues to help On3 take a step forward in women’s sports. On3 released the Top 25 in its initial rankings set and on it were several top targets for LSU in 2025. Here’s a rundown of the prospects on the list to know and more.

Bella Hines checks in at No. 24

The LSU commit is rated a 96 by On3, putting her just inside the initial top 25 list. Hines committed to Kim Mulkey and LSU back in April and at the time was outside of the top 30 on ESPN’s girls basketball rankings. Since then she’s had a few strong showings on the AAU circuit alongside Aaliyah Chavez and Ayla McDowell and further proven that she’s a worthy top 25 prospect in the class.

In her junior season, Hines averaged 33 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game and made 138 3-pointers and 208 free throws in her junior season and broke the record for most career points in Eldorado history.

Aaliyah Chavez earns No. 1 spot

Goodman’s writeup: “Lubbock (Texas) Monterey point guard Aaliyah Chavez comes in at No. 1 on the inaugural ranking and continues to dominate on the Nike EYBL circuit this offseason, leading all players with 23.4 points per game and averaging 4.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists on 51% shooting from the field and 48% from deep.

She was also named the Texas girls’ basketball Gatorade Player of the Year in March, along with earning All-America and all-state honors. The 5-foot-9 point guard recently took an unofficial visit to the LSU Tigers and has stood out as the top prospect in the 2025 class.”

LSU’s outlook

Chavez remains on the top of LSU’s board and On3’s RPM currently has the Tigers in the lead for the nation’s top prospect after an unofficial visit in early June and a pending official in the fall. Any other name at No. 1 would feel wrong considering how dominant Chavez has been on the AAU circuit this summer.

ZaKiyah Johnson gets five-star recognition

Johnson is ranked as the No. 4 player in the country and No. 1 shooting guard and is the fourth five-star prospect. She is another player LSU is incredibly high on and will host on a visit this fall, Johnson is a 6-foot guard who averaged 22.5 points and eight rebounds, ending with a 36-3 record and winning the Gatorade Kentucky Player of the Year. “Johnson played alongside Davidson and Betts this June in the FIBA U18 AmeriCup, returning home with a gold medal after averaging eight points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists. The 6-foot guard/forward narrowed her list to 12 prior to her junior season, which included UConnLSUNotre DameSouth Carolina and more.” – Talia Goodman

Where other LSU targets are ranked

Divine Bourrage at No. 7

Bourrage is an exciting talent certainly worth a top 10 spot as she has several top programs after her, including LSU, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, and Florida. She’s scheduled for a visit in October to LSU.

Grace Knox at No. 13

Knox is a big underrated in my estimation, a top ten talent in this class that LSU is extremely intrigued by. A 6-foot-2 forward with an awesome skillset and videos dunking, Knox’s recruitment is wide open, but LSU has her locked in for an official visit in September.

Ayla McDowell at No. 23

McDowell is clearly a top 25 player in the country and continuing to grow her game at 6-foot-2. She’s an elite rebounder and defender right now with a lot of potential to score offensively and someone LSU is certainly hoping to impress in her official visit in September.
