No. 1 DL Jahkeem Stewart returning to LSU
2026 four-star defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart is headed back to LSU for the Florida game, he tweeted. He’s made numerous visits this fall, including trips to Baton Rouge.
With him being a sophomore, Stewart isn’t talking with schools too much. He’s focused on playing this season. Working with EDGE Assassins, the focus has been on playing.
LSU though is one of the teams he’s talked with. Defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey, associate head coach Frank Wilson, director of player development Jordan Arcement, wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton are all among those he’s talked with.
“Coach Frank is the big person in my recruitment for LSU,” Stewart said. “I think he’s a great person. Coach Clyde told me he’s a great person to be around and meet. Ever since I’ve met him, he’s stood on his word. That’s the person you’d be around and he’s a great person.”

“I want to enjoy the recruiting process,” Stewart said. “All the big house schools with good d-linemen and good coaching. I ain’t got a favorite. I’m looking for the best college for me and what can help with my future in life. I want to surround myself with great-minded people and people I can trust. Trust is a big word and I barely use, but I want to put myself around people who think and move like me. I want people to make a connection with me.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Stewart is the No. 2 overall prospect in the country, No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 1 prospect in Louisiana.
