On3 5-star Weston Davis flips from Texas A&M to LSU
The LSU football staff has pulled off one of the biggest flips in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
On Thursday evening, Texas A&M five-star offensive line commitment Weston Davis flipped his commitment from the Aggies to the Tigers.
LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis made a stop at Beaumont United (Beaumont, Texas) on Thursday, and the news of a flip from one of the nation’s best offensive tackles followed.
Davis is ranked by On3 as a five-star, the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country, the No. 18 overall prospect in America and a Top 5 recruit in Texas.
Prior to his decision to flip to LSU, Davis was Texas A&M’s second-highest ranked commitment, per the On3 rankings for the 2024 class. Davis is LSU’s highest-ranked commitment for the cycle, followed by four-star Trey’Dez Green at No. 40 overall as a Top 3 tight end nationally.
LSU adds a 5-star to an already solid OL haul
The addition of Weston Davis not only gives the Tigers a five-star prospect, but also bolsters an already impressive offensive line class.
Now, the Tigers have commitments in from a pair of Top 10 offensive tackle prospects on On3 in Davis and North Carolina four-star Ethan Calloway.
LSU also has commitments in from two interior offensive linemen out of Louisiana in Khayree Lee and Joseph Cryer, as well as Texas offensive tackle Ory Williams.

The On3 Scouting Report
This past month, On3 updated the recruiting rankings for the 2024 class following the first month of the high school football season.
With the update, Davis is ranked as the No. 18 overall prospect in the 2024 On300 and became a new five-star prospect, jumping up from No. 20 overall in On3’s previous rankings.
The latest edition of On3’s 2024 rankings features 19 five-star players, up from 15 in the previous update in April.
Here’s the On3 scouting team’s take on what Davis brings at the offensive tackle position:
“Light-footed, flexible offensive tackle with one of the higher developmental upsides among offensive linemen in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over to 6-foot-5, and north of 280 pounds in the spring prior to his senior year. Has plus length for the position with arms that have measured over 35-inches. Was a basketball-first athlete prior to taking up football in high school. Still relatively new to the game, but has shown considerable upside. Has high-end movement skills.
Easily works to the second level as a run blocker and has burst and bounce in his movements. Shows budding physicality as a run blocker and works to finish blocks. Has the natural skill set to develop into a gifted pass protector. Will need time to gain strength and mass along with honing his technique. Should benefit from a redshirt year and time in a college strength program.”
