Recruiting Podcast: LSU lands 4-star LB Tylen Singleton
On the latest edition of The Bengal Tiger Recruiting Podcast, Shea Dixon and Billy Embody dove into how LSU was able to land Many (La.) linebacker Tylen Singleton, who committed to the Tigers on Saturday.
He picked LSU over the likes of Arkansas, TCU, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Singleton is the third linebacker to commit to LSU in the 2024 cycle, joining four-star Xavier Atkins and three-star Davhon Keys. Destrehan four-star Kolaj Cobbins is also on board as a JACK linebacker.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Singleton comes in as the No. 147 overall prospect, No. 13 linebacker in the nation and No. 5 prospect in Louisiana.

Singleton helped Many to a 12-0 record and the 2A state championship in 2020. Then in 2021, he tallied 75 tackles, four tackles for a loss and a sack, helping Many to another return to the state title game. And then as a junior, Singleton earned about every honor possible in Louisiana and guided Many to another state championship.

On3 director of scouting Charles Power said in May that the rankings team is monitoring his physical development. He’s playing linebacker at the next level and On3 will be watching his senior year unfold.
“I think he’s a good athlete, guy who runs well. He’s a little bit different than the others in that we have him ranked as a linebacker, kind of is a hybrid linebacker-safety,” Power said. “Want to see where he ends up from a size perspective and get a better picture of where he’s at.”
