Hello, all! Shea Dixon, here.

Three months ago, I put a period at the end of a decade long chapter at 247Sports. I’m excited to finally announce that I’ve joined On3, where I’ll call LSU’s fan site “The Bengal Tiger” my new home.

During the past 10 years, I was able to work and grow under Shannon Terry and many others who pioneered the online recruiting industry with the boom of Rivals in the early 2000s. Upon my arrival in 2012, they were already building the foundation at 247Sports for what would become the go-to place for top fan sites on a network.

One thing that separated us from the pack in those years was never wavering from new ideas and concepts, including the creation of elements like the Crystal Ball and Composite rankings.

Now, Shannon and his team have built On3 into a brand with not just immediate legitimacy, but a thriving fan site network, elite national writers, and a player database that will be the new gold standard for the industry. Getting the chance to join back up with Shannon, Andy Johnson, Brandon O’Neal, Adam Dillon and countless others was something I couldn’t pass up. They have a proven track record of being the industry leader in fan sites and recruiting coverage, and On3 is on track to be the best yet.

The mission statement is simple: build a site LSU’s fans want to be a part of. That means not just the expected scoop, tidbits, breaking news and reactions, but also a message board community that we plan to grow far beyond the website itself.

After working with Billy Embody for more than five years, I know The Bengal Tiger will be home to some of the hardest workers in the industry. Both he and Peter Rauterkus, who is still a student studying journalism at LSU, did a great job of launching the site in January and building it into what it has become. And after working with Matthew Brune for the past year, I know the four-man team assembled on Sept. 1 is one that will deliver LSU fans timely news, engaging discussions, new podcasts and more.

Shea Dixon joins The Bengal Tiger to build top LSU fan site

With hires still to come both at The Bengal Tiger and across the On3 platform, the nation’s preeminent college athletics site will be the On3 network.

Since arriving to Baton Rouge in 2004, I’ve been embraced by the LSU community. I view this career move as the opportunity to give back to fans who love LSU athletics by building The Bengal Tiger as part of the On3 platform.

It’s always been a great feeling be part of the best fanbase in the country, and my decision to join On3 and The Bengal Tiger affords me the opportunity to do that with the best leadership, national team, recruiting staff and fan sites in the business.

I look forward to diving head first into this new chapter, and I hope everyone joins us as we take LSU recruiting and team coverage to another level.
