The Bengal Tiger Podcast: LSU vs. South Carolina Game Picks and more
The Bengal Tiger staff’s weekly Preview and Predictions are in for Week 3’s road matchup with South Carolina, which marks the start of Southeastern Conference play for the Tigers.
LSU enters the game at 1-1 overall and ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll Top 25, while the Gamecocks welcome the Tigers to Baton Rouge sitting at 2-0 on the season following a win over Nicholls that came after a Week 1 loss in Las Vegas that saw Southern Cal score the game-winning touchdown with 8 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
South Carolina sits at 2-0 after a convincing 31-6 win over Kentucky, which followed up a close call with Old Dominion in a 23-19 win that saw the Gamecocks score the team’s lone two touchdowns on Old Dominion turnovers from inside its’ only 10-yard line – resulting in scoring drives of 3 plays for 3 yards and 2 plays for 6 yards.
And while South Carolina put up 31 points in the win over Kentucky, the scoring came on a total of 173 yards passing and 88 yards rushing.
Could this be a trap game for the Tigers on the road in the SEC, or is this the bounce-back game for LSU after the Tigers gave up a fourth quarter lead to lose to Southern Cal in Week 1 before a matchup that saw Nicholls keep the game close by controlling the clock before LSU pulled away for the 44-21 win?
