The Bengal Tiger's LSU Transfer Portal Tracker
The LSU football team has completed exit meetings with the players on roster following the 9-3 finish to the 2023 season.
With the meetings will come news from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opened on December 4, which begins a 30-day window that allows players from around the country to enter the portal.
As of December 19, LSU had nine players announce decisions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Sage Ryan, who played more than 600 snaps at defensive back this season, announced his intention to enter, but his name never appeared in the portal. On December 19, Ryan confirmed he was not planning to enter and would remain at LSU.
One year ago, LSU had 18 scholarship players enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Meanwhile, the Tigers added 14 players from the Transfer Portal.
Where will the numbers fall this year?
Follow all the action below with The Bengal Tiger’s Transfer Portal Tracker.
LSU Transfer Portal Tracker (10)
RB Armoni Goodwin – Goodwin became the first player to announce his decision to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, sharing the news on Nov. 27. Goodwin, who battled multiple injuries during his time in Baton Rouge, spent three seasons at LSU and finished with 13 games played, three starts, 61 carries, 332 yards and five touchdowns. Goodwin did not see any playing time in 2023 after suffering a season-ending injury.
CB Laterrance Welch – Welch will enter the Transfer Portal, he announced on Friday, Dec. 1. Welch, who played on special teams as a true freshman in 2022, didn’t log any starts but saw action in nine games this season for the Tigers. He logged nine tackles, a pass breakup and was in on a tackle for loss for LSU this season. Welch has since committed to Arizona State.
RB Kevontre Bradford – One of the biggest mysteries on the LSU roster this season was Bradford, who took the first touch of the opener 55 yards on a catch-and-run before later scoring the team’s first touchdown of the season. From there, Bradford never appeared in another game all season. He made two starts during his time in Baton Rouge, a stretch that began in 2020 and included a brief transfer to Oklahoma before returning to LSU ahead of the 2021 season. Bradford was not with the team during Kelly’s first year in 2022, but rejoined the roster this offseason before appearing in one game in 2023. Sources confirmed to The Bengal Tiger staff that Bradford is expected to enter the portal.
DL Bryce Langston – Langston is expected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he said on Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 3. Langston played against Grambling this season, making two tackles. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop, but played minimally over his three seasons in Baton Rouge. Langston signed with LSU as a four-star in the 2021 class, committing to head coach Ed Orgeron as a Top 15 edge rusher on the On3 Industry Rankings.
TE Jackson McGohan – LSU true freshman Jackson McGohan entered the portal on Wednesday. McGohan was part of a three-man tight end class for the Tigers in 2023. McGohan took a redshirt during his first and only season in Baton Rouge. McGohan is headed back closer to home in Ohio with his decision to transfer to Wisconsin.

DE Quency Wiggins – Wiggins has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, making the move official on Friday, December 8. Wiggins appeared in five games as a true freshman in 2022, then took a redshirt this season. He leaves Baton Rouge with 9 games played, seven tackles and one tackle for loss. Wiggins has since committed to Colorado.
OL Marlon Martinez – The seventh Tiger to announce his plans to enter the Transfer Portal is offensive lineman Marlon Martinez. Martinez, who will transfer as an LSU graduate, appeared in 45 games with four starts during his time in Baton Rouge. After seeing time at guard, Martinez moved to center and battled starter Charles Turner – and got all the first-team reps during Turner’s absence this spring. After Turner started in all 12 games this season, Martinez elected to transfer in hopes of winning a starting job. On December 19, Martinez announced his decision to transfer to Mississippi State.
DL Fitzgerald West – West became the eighth LSU player to leave the program when he officially had his name appear in the transfer portal on December 14. West arrived at LSU in 2022 and appeared in five games, seeing action on offensive and defensive lines as well as special teams. West played a season-high 34 snaps on offense in his Tiger Stadium debut vs. Southern, then later saw action on six snaps on defense in a win over New Mexico and finished the year with 29 defensive snaps in a Citrus Bowl matchup with Purdue, recording his first tackle in the win. During Year 2, West who took a redshirt in 2022, appeared in two games (Grambling State and Army), seeing just seven total snaps on defense on the season.
DL Tygee Hill – On December 19, Hill revealed his plans to enter the portal. The New Orleans native played in nine career games in Baton Rouge, making three total tackles and a pass breakup. Hill appeared in three games and made one tackle during his freshman season in 2022, taking a redshirt. In 2023, Hill appeared in six games and saw 45 snaps on the defensive line. He finished the year with two tackles and one pass broken up. The defensive tackle position is a key one for LSU, but Hill found himself not just behind starters Mekhi Wingo and Maason Smith on snap counts, but also backups Jordan Jefferson (379 snaps), Jacobian Guillory (238) and Jalen Lee (52).
DB Duce Chestnut – On Dec. 26, Chestnut entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. He started his college career at Syracuse and spent one season with the Tigers. Chestnut appeared in the first four games of the season but has not played since the Arkansas game on Sept. 23. Chestnut was ruled out for the New Year’s Day bowl game against Wisconsin.
