Times of Interest: LSU vs. Grambling
The Tigers take on Grambling at 6:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network+ or ESPN+ for its home opener. Here are the Times of Interest to know as you’re getting to Tiger Stadium.
This week, the Tigers are trying to bounce back from a rough loss to Florida State in Week 1. That means changes are coming and highly-touted freshman Zalance Heard will get a start this week.
“I think the plan is to get him in with the first unit,” head coach Brian Kelly said on Monday. “See how that mix goes as well. I think part of it was to take an offensive tackle going against Florida State’s defensive ends didn’t seem to be the smartest thing to do in week one. But week two I think this is a good opportunity to get him in and give him an opportunity to play a little bit. Excited about the chance to see him play.”

The Tigers also get defensive tackle Maason Smith back in the fold after he was suspended Week 1 vs. the Seminoles.
“We will just have to see how everything goes, they want to try to make my workload as normal as possible. Not just throwing me out there for fifty or sixty snaps,” Smith told reporters this week. “In a game like Grambling, I’ve got the opportunities to get the other guys some playing time hopefully and then move on to the next week.”
