Top 2024 WBB prospect leaves LSU off final list
After months of uncertainty surrounding Sarah Strong, the nation’s No. 1 player in the 2024 class, she’s finally narrowed her list down to her final three teams. Per ESPN, Strong’s top three schools are Duke, North Carolina, and UConn.
No LSU, South Carolina, Oregon, or UCLA, four teams who hosted Strong and were heavy in her recruitment over the past few months.
LSU especially had a long-standing relationship with Strong and her family, hosting them on a visit in the fall and positioning themselves well with the nation’s top prospect from South Carolina.
“Strong is the last player in the ESPNW Top 100 to commit to a school since she decided late last fall to make her decision in the spring,” ESPN wrote. “Born in Europe while her parents both played professionally, the Naismith Player of the Year and McDonald’s All-American has not had what many would consider a traditional development and recruiting process. Rather than play on one of the shoe brand circuits or the Select 40, she stayed with her team, Lady Strong, which is coached by her father, Danny Strong.”
What’s next for LSU?
LSU currently has Jada Richard as its only signee in the high school class and now will await the portal window to further add to its roster for the 2024-25 season.

Kim Mulkey and her staff at LSU have proven they can add top-tier transfers every year from Angel Reese and Alexis Morris to Aneesah Morrow and Hailey Van Lith and several more names in between like LaDahzia Williams, Autumn Newby, Jasmine Carson, Kateri Poole, and others. Filling out the roster is not a concern for the Tigers, but there will be a bigger emphasis on the portal this year than last year after signing the No. 1 class in the country for 2023.
LSU also awaits the decision of Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith, two seniors with the option to comeback for one more season.
Kim Mulkey has her team ready for the NCAA Tournament run and leads one of the more polarizing programs in the nation at LSU. It will be fascinating to watch the Tigers build for the future once the season concludes.
