Two Louisiana prospects, running back TreVonte’ Citizen and defensive lineman Quency Wiggins, both finished in the Top 100 overall prospect in the final On300.
On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power shared why both made the move up in the final rankings.
For Citizen, he finished in the On300 as the No. 57 overall prospect in the country and No. 2 running back nationally. He’s set to decide on National Signing Day with finalists like Auburn, Florida, LSU and Miami in the mix.
“It is very much a down cycle at running back nationally. With that said, we thought TreVonte’ Citizen has one of the better skill sets at the position,” Power explained. “He has an ideal build at 5-foot-11, 220 pounds and plays with a strong base. Citizen is a slasher who excels with his lateral agility and cutback ability. He was playing really well as a senior before going down with an injury.”
The Tigers lead the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for Citizen. He ranks on the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, as the No. 93 overall prospect and No. 4 running back in America.
Quency Wiggins oozes with potential
When Wiggins committed to LSU, it was a big recruiting win for Brian Kelly early in his tenure. The Baton Rouge native then went on to hit the All-American Bowl, continuing to pass the eye test, for a brief showing before an accident sidelined him.
Now, he’s an early enrollee at LSU and is oozing with potential. He moved up in the On300 to finish as the No. 81 overall prospect and No. 10 defensive lineman in the nation.

“Quency Wiggins is on the very shortlist of 2022 prospects who pass the eye test with flying colors,” Power said. “He has an awesome frame and length. Wiggins is still developing as a player as he’s new to football. He’s typically performed better in camps than live games as he continues to adjust to the speed of play.
“We were pleasantly surprised by his progress at the All-American Bowl. Wiggins might need some time, but has a considerable upside.”
According to the On3 Consensus, Wiggins ranks as the No. 55 overall prospect, No. 8 defensive lineman nationally and No. 6 prospect in Louisiana. He picked the Tigers over Alabama, Florida and others.
Tigers set for big finish for Signing Day?
Next Wednesday is National Signing Day for colleges across the country and LSU remains in the thick of it for a few of the nation’s best like Citizen. Five Star Plus+ linebacker Harold Perkins, five-star safety Jacoby Mathews, four-star wide receiver Caleb Douglas and defensive back Jaelyn Davis-Robinson are all expected to visit LSU this weekend.
LSU sits in the 2022 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings as the No. 15 overall class. Still, the Tigers have added much more talent with 11 transfers committing to play for the Tigers. Overall, it’s one of the best transition year classes in recent memory.
