WATCH: Brian Kelly breaks down LSU-Auburn, updates injuries

LSU head coach Brian Kelly broke down the takeaways from the win over New Mexico, looked ahead to LSU-Auburn and updated numerous injuries below. Check out Kelly’s press conference from Monday’s media availability below.
LSU will kick off at Auburn at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN. Auburn will host LSU this weekend after a 17-14 overtime win over Missouri. Auburn’s offense mustered just 3.3 yards per play, the school’s fewest in a win since the 2006 season when the Tigers beat Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl.
Auburn started quarterback Robby Ashford against Missouri, but former LSU quarterback TJ Finley could also see time against his former team, potentially.
“You always have to keep an eye on whether Finley plays as well,” Brian Kelly said. “He gives you the throwing end of things. We’ll have to prepare for both. We don’t have any first-hand information that one’s playing over the other, but we’ll be prepared for either one.”

With Hurricane Ian bearing down on Florida and the Southeast, there’s the potential that LSU will face a muggy field at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

“We’ve talked about a gameplan in terms of what it might look like,” Kelly told reporters. “Hopefully, it’s going to pass through. We’re going to get some rain of some kind. That’ll be our first time in that kind of element. It’s a grass situation. You put those plans together relative to what that would look like if in fact we did get hit with some severe rain.”
It’ll also be a true road test for LSU. Brian Kelly will enter his first opposing SEC stadium as LSU head coach.
“We’ll be in a stadium that will not be pro-LSU. The enemy is distractions,” Kelly said. “We’ll have to do a great job of not being distracted, to be focused on making sure that our guys are locked in on what’s important. We’ll work on that skill this week as well as the preparation that we’ve had all year.”
