WATCH: Brian Kelly previews LSU vs. Arkansas
LSU head coach Brian Kelly met with the media on Monday to preview Saturday’s matchup in Tiger Stadium between the Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks. Check out the full press conference above.
Despite an early loss to Florida State, Kelly said it was more about finding the formula for this team, which has many new faces, to win.
“With 14 transfers and the amount of freshmen that we were going to have to play, that’s a red flag,” Kelly said. “If you’re really looking at it carefully, that’s going to require some tweaking. That’s going to require for you to really understand that there’s going to have to be some movement in terms of changing direction with your team along the way.
“We were able to do that, I think, and I think we’re finding the formula for this team. But I think that most teams that I’ve had, there haven’t been as many that are ‘just add water’ and just go, they all require a little bit of changing the formula as the season goes on to get the right mix.”

As the Tigers prepare for the Razorbacks, a big question will be whether Arkansas playmaker and running back Rocket Sanders is ready to play. While Kelly gave some injury updates of his own on Monday, Arkansas coach Sam Pittman didn’t have much to say about Sanders.
“I don’t know if he’s going to be able to play or not,” Pittman said. “I tell you in all honesty it’s probably too early to tell on that injury. We’re going to have him out there a little bit today and kind of see where he’s at. But to be honest with you the answer is probably no at this point. Not no he’s not going to play, but no we just don’t know.”
LSU and Arkansas face off at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN Saturday night in Death Valley. Last year, Kelly’s Tigers went up to Fayetteville and beat the Razorbacks, 13-10.
