Brian Kelly breaks down LSU win over Georgia State

LSU head coach Brian Kelly met with the media on Saturday night after the 56-14 win over Georgia State. Catch the full video with Kelly talking about Jayden Daniels‘ Heisman Trophy candidacy and more.

The Tigers rolled up another historic showing offensively with Daniels at the helm. The Tigers now finish up the regular season with an 11 a.m. CT start against Texas A&M for Senior Day in Tiger Stadium.

“It was a great performance again by our offense,” Kelly told reporters. “Eight possessions, eight touchdowns; what more could you say? It’s been exciting to watch and I hope everyone enjoyed the efficiency in which they operated.”

Daniels finished the night 25-30 for 413 yards with six passing touchdowns to go along with 96 rushing yards on 10 carries with two touchdowns. For the sixth time this season Daniels accounted for at least 410 yards of offense and he became the first player in LSU history with at least five passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in the same game.

Kelly raved about Daniels and said he was the best player he’s ever coached. He’s now the Heisman Trophy favorite after his latest showing.

“I think you guys are starting to see how assertive and decisive, I think that’s the word that I would use more than anything else, is decisiveness. In football when you’re 25 for 30 throwing the football, the decisiveness and the decision-making has to be that way and that’s what you’re seeing,” Kelly said. “I think right now the way he’s playing and the decisiveness and the way he’s taking over games, he’s the best player. I would say he’s the best.”
