LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw a 25-yard touchdown pass on the first possession of overtime for the Tigers to beat Ole Miss, 29-26. Check out the pass to wide receiver Kyren Lacy to complete the comeback against the Rebels.

Nussmeier battled through a 22-of-51 night for 337 yards and three scores with two interceptions. During LSU’s bye week, he continued his routine of calling his father, NFL assistant Doug Nussmeier.

“We just talk through the situations that have happened. He definitely gets on me when I do dumb things—we’ve always had that relationship going back to high school, and even little league,” Nussmeier said this week. “I’m blessed to have him in my life and have that father-son relationship, but also the player-coach dynamic.”

Those weekly calls continue to help Nussmeier be among the SEC’s quarterbacks and he just earned a signature win as the starting quarterback at LSU.
