WATCH: Highlights of new LSU commit Christian Brathwaite
Three-star linebacker Christian Brathwaite flipped from Baylor to LSU on last week, giving the Tigers a second linebacker in the 2023 recruiting class. The Cy Ranch (Tex.) standout suffered a loss on Friday to Cy Falls on Senior Night, but still made an impact with a forced fumble.
Brathwaite is ready to get to LSU now and bring his leadership qualities. He’s been moved around at times, but has settled in off the ball for Cy Ranch. Check out every snap of his from his game on Friday.
“They’re going to get a hard working kid for sure,” Brathwaite told On3. “Winner, leader. Great individual on and off the field, a student-athlete.”
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Christian Brathwaite ranks as the No. 411 overall prospect in the country and No. 38 linebacker prospect in the nation.

LSU gets a true thumper in Christian Brathwaite
This season for Cy Ranch, Brathwaite was averaging nine tackles per game through their first four games that On3 has stats for. On3 director of scouting Charles Power sees a prospect who looks destined to be an inside backer at the next level with above average length.
“On the field, we’ve seen him line up in different spots at Cy Ranch,” Power said. “Played off the ball and also as a pass rusher this year on the edge. Looks pretty productive as a senior so far. More of a box player, at this point. Probably most comfortable as a rusher and against the run. Shows good instincts, uses his length to make tackles.
“Can continue getting stronger at the point of attack. The instincts and length manifest in a rangy run defender. He’s having a good year, well-rounded linebacker who can do some different things for you.”
