LSU defensive coordinator Matt House keeps in constant contact with him.
“Coach House and I talk weekly. Occasionally, he’ll be busy, but we have a great relationship,” Keys said this summer. “We talk about football of course, but we also talk about family life or how working out has been. It’s really been great.”
Keys does it on and off the field, leading his team in many different ways. When it comes to linebackers, Carlos Whitmire trains some of the top linebackers nationally. He was coaching up former LSU linebacker Damone Clark and Keys this summer.

“He’s a leader of the team. Great kid. Great personality. May not get one word out of him, but he’s a great kid,” Whitmire said. “When I match his film and look up a lot of films when they rank the No. 1 linebacker in different states or Texas, I think he’ll be talked in that No. 1 or No. 2. There are some great kids, athletes and linebackers out there, but he’s a good kid.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Keys ranks as the No. 44 overall linebacker in the country and No. 74 prospect in Texas.
