WATCH: LSU QB commitment Colin Hurley's highlights
On Friday morning, LSU football received some major news when Florida four-star quarterback Colin Hurley announced a double decision.
Hurley not only revealed that he was now committed to LSU, but also added that he had made the decision to reclassify into the 2024 class.
“To Coach Brian Kelly and the staff at LSU, I want to say, thank you, for the opportunity to graduate a champion and bring a national championship to Baton Rouge,” Hurley said.
Hurley, the starting quarterback at Trinity Christian Academy in Florida, has been impressive since he first stepped onto the field, which helped earn him an early ranking of the No. 2 quarterback in the country among high school sophomores.

Hurley finished the season 144-for-257 passing for 2,146 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Hurley’s 2022 Season
With a 9-0 record, Trinity Christian Academy is rolling towards another shot at a state championship, which would be the 10th in program history and would have all come under legendary coach Verlon Dorminey.
“In thirty-two years as a head coach, and nearly forty years in coaching, he’s one of the most special guys I’ve seen at the position,” Dorminey said. “The kid plays the hardest position in all of sports, plays it at a very high level, and he’s been playing varsity football since the eighth grade. He’s special. I don’t just mean the stuff you see on the field, with the remarkable throws and ability to make plays; moreover, he does all of the other things you want, and need, in your quarterback.”
While Hurley has been sidelined in a handful of games, he has appeared in six contests and hit on 60-of-109 passes for 954 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions.
“LSU is getting a gem,” Dorminey said. “He’s a quarterback that is a winner, on the field, and who can lead them to a championship. Nonetheless, they’re also getting a high-character young man, who everyone will embrace and be very proud of, off the field. He is special and I love him and want the best for Colin.”
