2024 LSU commit and Zachary (La.) tight end Trey’Dez Green made a huge move up in the latest On3 rankings and showed why on Thursday. Against Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic High, he made numerous big plays for his team.

Green currently ranks as the No. 42 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also tabbed as the No. 1 tight end recruit nationally and the No. 2 prospect in Louisiana.

In 12 games as a junior, Green had 864 yards receiving and hauled in 14 touchdowns on 42 receptions.

On3 director of scouting Charles Power said Tiger fans should be excited about what Green’s put together. He added weight in the offseason and is moving well with that added mass.

“Has a bounce to his step that he maybe didn’t have quite as consistently as a junior. He’s made some ridiculous catches so far,” Power said. “He’s a guy we’ve always been high on his upside as a big-time mismatch at tight end. He’s around 6-6, 230 pounds and has that above the rim basketball athleticism along with his bulk and ability to box out defenders in the air.”

On3 moved him up from the No. 126 overall prospect in the country to the No. 39 overall prospect. The eighth-ranked tight end is now the No. 3 tight end. He could rise even higher up the ranks.

“We’re starting to see him put it all together early on during his senior season at Zachary,” Power said. “I think his upside is very high. Green’s a guy who if he continues to play this way, it’s not out of the question that he keeps moving up. We’re going to have to go through the rest of the senior season, hope we see him in-person as well. He is extremely gifted physically and is starting to put it all together, which is what you want to see from high upside prospects as seniors.”
