West Feliciana's Joel Rogers soars up On3 rankings
One of the hottest prospects in Louisiana over the past month is West Feliciana’s Joel Rogers.
The Louisiana native was a two-way standout as a junior this past season, playing both quarterback and safety.
That caught the attention of college coaches, and Rogers is now inching closer to a double-digit scholarship offer list.
Just this month, Rogers has offers in from the likes of Miami, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas.
On Monday, On3 updated the Top 300 for the 2024 class.
Rogers went from unranked to the No. 211 overall prospect in the country. He is now a 4-star prospect with a 91 rating.
After looking over the film, On3 National Director of Rankings and Scouting Charles Power tabbed Rogers as the No. 4 prospect in the state of Louisiana.

Positive news on Texas QB
“We liked Joel Rogers’ ability as a two-way playmaker when projecting him as a safety,” Power said. “He’s a high school quarterback who makes a lot of plays with his mobility. We were also impressed with his physicality and striking power on defense. He’s a natural on that side of the ball.”
Rogers is now ranked by On3 as a Top 25 safety prospect in the 2024 class.
While LSU has not offered Rogers a scholarship yet, that could change in the coming months.
The Tigers have already been recruiting the local four-star, which includes conversations with LSU safeties coach Kerry Cooks.
“Coach Cooks is a great guy all-around,” Rogers said. “I could tell how intentional he was with player development from the first time I met him at LSU football camp. He understands the game on so many different levels. He teaches as if he is giving all of his knowledge to players to help them see the game the way he does
“LSU’s staff is full of great coaches and men who focus on the development of the team not only as player, but into becoming adults which shows a true coaching environment. It’s always great to be around LSU’s players and coaching staff.”
Rogers is expected to make a number of campus visits this offseason, including a trip to LSU in March.
