Where LSU's 22 transfer departures signed to play in 2025

With the spring portal window closed and most teams having their rosters set, we’ve continued to break down LSU’s 2025 transfer haul and the high-level talent coming to Baton Rouge. With the increased urgency for Brian Kelly and his program to get to the playoffs next season, it was essential that the Tigers won the offseason and stacked their roster to the best of their ability for the season ahead.
With that being said, it’s also important to note the departures and the players LSU is replacing from last year’s team. Along with numerous NFL Draft picks, the Tigers had 22 transfer departures. Here, we’re going to rundown where they are all headed and look at who LSU could be playing this year.
Who transferred to other SEC teams?

DE Dashawn Womack at Ole Miss
S Sage Ryan at Ole Miss
LB Xavier Atkins at Auburn
Both Ryan and Womack are projected to be competing for starting jobs at Ole Miss this year, coming out of the spring. Both of them reportedly got plenty of snaps with the ones and will be in line to start if they can hold on through the fall. Ryan played in 43 games with 19 starts in his four seasons at LSU and now looks to start for the Rebels in his senior year. Meanwhile, Womack was in the two-deep but never a starter in his two years at LSU, as a former five-star with impressive athleticism.
I’ve seen some projections with Atkins as the backup Will Linebacker at Auburn this year behind true sophomore Demarcus Riddick. He should get on the field some, but it’s unclear how much right now. He was a quality recruit out of high school in Texas and seems like he can work to get on the field for Auburn.
Who else transferred to P4 schools?

WR CJ Daniels to Miami
TE Ka’Morreun Pimpton to TCU
QB Rickie Collins to Syracuse
DL Kimo Makaneole to West Virginia
DL Jay’Viar Suggs to Wisconsin
CB JK Johnson to Oklahoma State
S Jordan Allen to Houston
S Kylin Jackson to TCU
CB Jyaire Brown to UCF
DL Dilan Battle to Utah
Collins was named the starter at Syracuse in the spring, which is awesome for him. After two years sitting behind Jayden Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier, Collins continued to work hard and it has paid off for him.
Daniels and Pimpton will both be featured receivers at their next stops and look to capitalize on their potential and the fact they are dropping down a step from the SEC to the ACC and Big 12.

The rest of the group, especially the upperclassmen, should all have significant roles at their next stops. I’m interested to see how Suggs does at Wisconsin and how Allen does at Houston specifically with their experience at LSU.
Transferred to G5/FCS

WR Shelton Sampson to Louisiana Lafayette
RB John Emery to UTSA
WR Landon Ibietta to Nicholls
DL Jalen Lee to UNLV
CB Bernard Causey to Georgia State
QB AJ Swann to Appalachian State
WR Javen Nicholas to Charlotte
DL De’Myrion Johnson – Southern
K Nathan Dibert – Uncommitted
Sampson is the biggest name here, as a former five-star talent who is now going to play with Walker Howard at ULL. Hopefully he puts it all together and helps lead this new-look Ragin Cajuns offense in the Sun Belt.
Landon Ibietta should have an awesome season at Nicholls. Injuries have been his biggest problem, so if he can stay on the field, he should produce for the Colonels.
AJ Swann finds his final landing place, going from Vandy to LSU to now Appalachian State and we’ll see if he gets the starting job at a quality G5 program.
