4-star LB Whit Weeks leaves Peach State for LSU
LSU landed 2023 Watkinsville (Ga.) Oconee County linebacker Whit Weeks, who signed Wednesday with the Tigers. Weeks will enroll early to get to work with defensive coordinator Matt House.
“It was really the people the place and the football,” Weeks told On3 when he committed over the summer. “They’ve got great football traditions. It’s one of the best football programs of all time. I love the campus. It was my favorite campus out of all the places that I visited. Me and coach (Matt) House have a great relationship. Everyone on the staff is excited to right the ship down there.”
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Weeks ranks as the No. 347 overall prospect and No. 31 linebacker in the nation. Whit Weeks pledged to LSU over Georgia, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and others.

Whit Weeks high school scouting report
“Ultra-productive off-ball backer that plays as if he knows where the ball is going before it is even snapped. Extremely physical and willing to stick his head into traffic when coming downhill. Solid frame that should fill out nicely. Stands at just over 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. See the bend and hip looseness while working at receiver on the offensive side of the ball.
“Lacks ideal explosiveness and long speed to get sideline to sideline at the next level. Ran 12.21 in the 100m and jumped a 5-foot-6 high jump during his sophomore track and field season. Plays lacrosse as well. High floor player who will always be around the football. Need to see him develop some twitch and long speed in order to see his name on NFL draft boards.”
