On March 22, four-star wide receiver Jabari Mack made headlines joining LSU’s 2026 class, a class that now holds four blue-chip wide receivers.

Mack, who plays at Destrehan High School, was a crucial pickup not only talent wise, but also being an in-state recruit. He is the No. 90 player and the No. 12 receiver in the 2026 class.

“I feel like they’re just getting started,” Mack said of LSU’s star-studded 2026 class.

For Mack, developing under LSU wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton played a critical role in his decision. In addition, Hankton stood out to Mack for how he is as a person.

“I feel like there are some coaches on his level as far as maybe coaching a receiver, but none on his level as a real person,” Mack said.

Three days before Mack pledged to the Tigers, five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys committed to the Tigers for a similar reason; being coached by Hankton.

Mack looks forward to playing alongside Keys, and to the potential of being another stellar receiver duo to wear the purple and gold.

“We’ve only talked some and he’s cool for sure,” Mack said. “Our chemistry can only build from here, so when we get on the field, we’re gonna be dangerous.”

Keys isn’t the only one Mack hopes to have success on the field with.

Now that he’s a part of LSU’s 2026 class, he hopes other in-state recruits can opt to stay home and join him in the class.

“I haven’t really talked to any guys trying to persuade them, but Lamar [Brown] knows where he belongs,” Mack said.

Mack plans to take his Official Visit to LSU from June 19-21. Committing so early allowed Mack to get comfortable with the rest of the class and take his official visit to further build his bond with the coaching staff and see what he’s stepping into in 2026.

Other top recruits like Brown, Keys and four-star cornerback Havon Finney Jr. are set to be on campus for an official visit the same weekend.

“[I’m looking forward to] just getting the full LSU experience,” Mack said.

LSU currently holds the No. 1 recruiting class, according to On3’s 2026 class rankings.
