The first wave of 2025 NFL Draft “mocks” are rolling out around the internet, and LSU left tackle Will Campbell is being held in very high regard.
On Wednesday, Yahoo!’s Nate Tice weighed in with his thoughts on who would become the No. 1 overall pick in the draft this offseason. His selection: Cambell.
One year ago, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels went No. 2 overall after winning the Heisman Trophy, while fellow Heisman winner and former Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow went No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Five years later, could Campbell match Burrow and come off the board with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft?

In Yahoo’s first mock draft, Nate Tice made the selection of the odd-numbered draft picks, while Charles McDonald selected the even picks.
No. 1 pick – Jacksonville Jaguars – Will Campbell
Nate Tice: “Campbell is a technician on the left side who constantly stays balanced and in a winning position. His upright stance looks funky, but he’s a good athlete with light feet who can move in space and has the core strength to bring pop in the run game. Campbell is a consistent and smart player for a franchise desperately needing some of that.”

The Bengal Tiger’s Reaction: Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks came off the board with the No. 3 overall pick, with Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter splitting the pair of linemen as the projected No. 2 pick. Of note, the next offensive tackle projected to come off the board is LSU right tackle Emery Jones, with PFF projecting the three-year starter to be selected with the No. 15 pick to the Chicago Bears.

PFF NFL Mock 1.0 has Will Campbell in the Top 3
Using the current PFF standings four weeks into the season, Trevor Sikkema a look at what the 2025 NFL Draft could bring if the picks were made today.
No. 3 pick – New England Patriots – Will Campbell
Trevor Sikkema: “Campbell’s been a hot commodity on draft boards since last year. Now that the LSU tackle is finally eligible this coming year, he probably won’t last long. The Patriots desperately need to revamp the offensive line. In order to keep franchise quarterback Drake Maye upright, when he finally debuts of course, Campbell would be a great start.”
The Bengal Tiger’s Reaction: Colorado’s Travis Hunter was PFF’s projection to be the top selection in the draft, followed by Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe at No. 2. Then, it was Campbell as a Top 3 pick. It’s clear Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks is viewed as the other top offensive tackle prospect given he checked into PFF’s Mock 1.0 as a Top 5 pick, going two spots after Campbell.
