100 Yards With Antonio Tripp
100 Yards with Christopher Johnson … 100 Yards with Frankie Tinilau … 100 Yards with Miami Hurricanes commit Nathaniel “Ray Ray” Joseph … 100 Yards with Hykeem Williams
BRADENTON – In our continuing series “100 Yards,” Izubee Charles walks end zone to end zone with Miami commit OL Antonio Tripp as they talk about his move from West Baltimore to Florida, which Miami Hurricane great he would add to the 2023 class and more!
Tripp, of course, committed to the Miami Hurricanes back on March 8 – he took his official visit in June. He technically is the longest-standing UM commitment in this year’s class under Mario Cristobal (Andy Jean and Lamar Seymore committed earlier but are no longer in the class).
His coach at IMG, Billy Miller, told CaneSport earlier this week of the standout lineman that “With Tripp playing on the line and being as athletic and versatile as he is, the athletic ability shows day in and day out. It will carry on to the next level.”
The three-star prospect says he has high goals at Miami, which he chose over Maryland, West Virginia, Texas A&M and Penn State.
And he sees the program finding its place at the top of the nation once things get going under Cristobal & Co.
“I can definitely see in the future Cristobal adding five more national championships to Miami.”
Tripp projects as a center/guard at Miami, and he’s part of an excellent offensive line class that also includes 5-star Francis Mauigoa, 3-star Frankie Tinilau, 3-star Connor Lew and 3-star Tommy Kinsler. Miami’s also in a good spot with 5-star Samson Okunlola.

The newcomers will arrive and help bolster a Miami line that’s been up-and-down this season and graduates DJ Scaife and Justice Oluwaseun.
The anticipated returners with a decent amount of starting experience will be center Jakai Clark, guard Jalen Rivers and tackles John Campbell and Zion Nelson (who has been out injured most of this season).
Miami also has a promising true freshman guard Anez Cooper, who started for the first time last game. And transfers Jon Denis and Logan Sagapolu have also had games with significant reps due to injuries along the line.
There are other young players who hope to emerge as well – Ryan Rodriguez off injury, Chris Washington, Matthew McCloy, Laurence Seymore and Michale McLaughlin – so it will be very interesting to see how Cristobal’s first full year recruiting class can perhaps come in and shake some things up.
