Add another Cristobal for Miami: OL transfer Luis Cristobal, Jr. is transferring to Hurricanes
Add another Cristobal to the Miami roster.
And this one’s going to be on the field.
Luis Cristobal, who is Mario Cristobal’s nephew, is coming back home after playing at Miami Columbus High School before heading to Georgia State for the last four seasons. He is already on Miami’s campus and is a 6-0, 274-pound redshirt senior.
In 367 reps last season at Georgia State he graded out at 52.5 overall with a 79.0 pass blocking grade and 52.6 run blocking grade (70 is considered a good grade). That’s per Pro Football Focus.
He only played in 41 combined reps his three prior seasons there.
The interior lineman was a two-time first team All-Dade County selection at Columbus High, helping lead the team to a 14-1 record and state title game berth in 2018.
He was a former 3-star recruit, and of course his father is former Miami Hurricane Luis Cristobal, Sr., the brother of Mario. At Miami he will be a depth guy and most importantly a lead-by-example kind of student-athlete.

One thing you know for sure about Luis, Jr.: He will work hard.
It’s just what a Cristobal does.
Luis, Jr. is the third transfer addition to the offensive line, and Miami also has a couple of new five-star additions on the front as the team has really re-shaped its attack up front. The other transfer additions are Alabama LG Javion Cohen, who started for the Crimson Tide, and UCF experienced starter Matt Lee at center.
The team also has added five-star freshmen Samson Okunlola and Francis Mauigoa, the latter of who was a first-teamer throughout the spring at right tackle. So when this season kicks off there’s the very real possibility that only one player who started a game at Miami last year, Jalen Rivers, will be in the starting lineup, with a chance that OG Anez Cooper will also start depending on fall battles and the health of OT Zion Nelson.
