BREAKING: Four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine commits to the Miami Hurricanes
After previously backing off his commitment to LSU, New Iberia (La.) West Gate four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine has committed to the Miami Hurricanes. The former longtime Tigers pledge chose the Canes over LSU and Florida State on Saturday evening.
“What they had in Miami, it was unmatchable, really – it came down to yesterday,” Antoine said during his announcement broadcast by On3.
This year Antoine has taken two visits to Miami, with his most recent being an official on the weekend of May 31. That trip was Antoine’s first in-depth look at the Hurricanes which left a lasting impression.
“I had a fun time, a good experience,” Antoine said coming off his Miami visit. “Miami was the first school to offer me so I had to give them a chance. Coming down and talking to the coaching staff, seeing everybody, it was building that relationship and I enjoyed it.”
Antoine says he knew for sure yesterday, and that’s when he gave the good news to coach Mario Cristobal.
“I told him yesterday – everybody was excited,” Antoine said, adding “I’m ready to get out there right now.”
Alongside defensive coordinator Lance Guidry, who is a native of Louisiana, and cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson, who played his collegiate football at LSU, the Hurricanes staff is no stranger to the Boot and has made Coral Gables feel like a second home for the coveted defensive.
“They are the only school that has really been consistent since offering me, text me every day, call me every day, a school that has been in my ear a lot,” Antoine said.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Antoine is the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2025 class and the No. 9 cornerback. He is also the No. 2 ranked prospect in the state of Louisiana.
What is Miami getting in Antoine?
“They are getting a leader on and of the field, a cornerback that will take away one side of the field,” he said. “We’re trying to win a natty.”
Antoine’s On3 scouting report:
“Long-bodied versatile defensive back prospect with tremendous cover skills and ability to break up passes at the catch point. Measured in at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds during summer campus visits. Smooth in his back pedal and transitions. Very comfortable in man coverage, sticky defender. Excellent field vision and ability to break to the football once the quarterback pulls the trigger. Unverified long speed but is a smooth mover with twitch that can play as a center field safety. Also displays impressive movement skills when playing quarterback for his high school team as well. Willing tackler when working downhill but not overly violent. Verified top-end speed could assist in determining his ceiling but has an extremely high floor regardless.”
CaneSport’s take
This is a huge win for the Hurricanes, who beat out LSU and Florida State for Antoine’s services. Luring an elite prospect out of the state of Louisiana from the Tigers has been far and few over the last few years, and Miami did just that with Antoine, who is a prospect the Canes have valued extremely highly for a very long time after being the first program to offer him. He’s another piece of a monster recruiting class.
