It has been nearly two months since the Miami Hurricanes added a prospect to their 2025 recruiting class, but that changed Tuesday evening after West Broward (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Joshua Moore flipped his commitment from the Florida Gators to the Canes.

Earlier this summer, Moore, who is the No. 129 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, announced his pledge to the Gators, but that didn’t stop Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard and the Hurricanes staff from recruiting the South Florida standout.

Miami continued to chip away slowly but surely, which boded well for the Hurricanes, who were in the market for a big outside receiver, which Moore is at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. Moore is now the 23rd member of the Hurricanes 2025 class and the second wide receiver joining fellow four-star pass catcher Daylyn Upshaw in Miami’s class.

Moore’s On3 scouting report

Moore is a high upside pass catcher with the traits to become a high-end X receiver. One of the most physically imposing top wide receivers in the 2025 cycle. Measured at around 6-foot-4, 205 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length for the position. Has the frame to top out at 220+ once he gets in a college strength program. Moves like a much smaller player. Shows the ability to stack corners off the line of scrimmage. Can gear down and drop his weight within his routes. Runs well and has the ability to separate vertically. Size, length and vertical bounce give him a large catch radius when his technique is aligned. Flashes body control in contested situations. Capable of coming down with fantastic one-handed grabs. Physical and tough to bring down after the catch. Totaled close to 1,900 yards and 20 touchdowns between his sophomore and junior seasons. Will have to improve the finer points to his game with route-running and overall technique. Can improve catching cleanly with proper technique. Allows the ball to get into his body at times. One of the youngest top wide receivers in the 2025 cycle, turning 17 years-old in April of his junior year. Developmental projection at receiver with a very high ceiling with continued development.
