Brody Jennings

Miami has flipped Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star top-150 cornerback Brody Jennings from Michigan, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound defender announced Saturday afternoon.

Jennings’ commitment gives Miami four four-star cornerbacks in the 2026 cycle along with Jaelen Waters, Jontavius Wyman and Camdin Portis and is the second cornerback Miami has flipped this class (the Hurricanes flipped Wyman from Georgia in early April). He gives the Hurricanes 20 commits in the cycle and adds to a class looking to finish in the top 10 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, which includes arguably the top cornerback class Miami has landed in head coach Mario Cristobal’s four full recruiting cycles.

Jennings’ commitment comes less than two weeks after he told CaneSport Miami had pulled even with Michigan, who he committed to last July. The No. 129 overall prospect and No. 18 cornerback in the On300 felt there was a gap between Miami and Florida and Florida State, who he viewed as the other two biggest contenders, and was publicly high on the Canes following his official visit.

His pledge gives the Hurricanes 14 commits listed as blue-chip recruits in either the On3 Industry Ranking or the On300 including No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell. The On300 ranks both Jennings and Waters in the top 130 and ranks Jennings more than 100 spots higher than any other major recruiting database.

CaneSport’s Take

Miami already had a solid cornerback class with it’s trio of Waters, Wyman and Portis, but adding Jennings puts this class on track to be the best cornerback class Miami has landed under Cristobal if the Hurricanes sign all four players in December. Waters, Wyman and Portis are all fully shut down and haven’t considered other schools since their respective commitments to Miami, and we don’t think Jennings is going anywhere. Miami still has more talent it would like to add this month, but grabbing Jennings was a very good start.
