Decision day today for 2 key Miami Hurricanes targets
The dead period arrived last week.
But it’s going to be a lively month for potential Miami Hurricane commitments … and let’s not forget also that the University of Miami landed a huge commit yesterday afternoon in Robert Stafford.
Now two high priority Miami targets will announce today: Tight end Riley Williams, and DE Jaxon Howard. DL Collins Acheampong had announced he would commit today but late Thursday he postponed his decision.
We at CaneSport feel very good about the spot UM’s in with Williams entering today, but we are not as optimistic on Howard. Howard also has LSU, Michigan and Minnesota in his picture.
As for Williams? Well if he does indeed come on board with his 6 pm ET announcement scheduled that would give the Hurricanes a third tight end commitment (with Reid Mikeska and Jackson Carver), making this what we have to think will wind up the best tight ends class in the country.

Acheampong? Many thought Michigan was his leader entering a Miami Hurricanes official visit last weekend, and we believe that shook things up a tremendous amount for him. But his decision to postpone a decIsion was a surprise.
And not to look too far ahead, but on Monday 5-star offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa and 4-star Darron Reed are expected to announce. The latest intel on Mauigoa is that where Miami was once the team to beat Tennessee now has the edge. But that can still change. Reed we consider a longshot.
As for today?
Stay tuned.
It could be a big day for the Miami Hurricanes.
