WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We continue our annual 30 for 30 countdown with the team’s top 30 players who played 30 or more reps. Today we take a look at No. 21 Zaquan Patterson, who looks poised to have a breakout season next fall.

In recruiting, we continue our coverage from a busy weekend down in Miami after the Hurricanes hosted several elite prospects for their Junior Day.

First, we catch up with Duncanville (Tx.) four-star 2026 ATH Zachery Turner, who is already eyeing a return to Miami following his first look at the Canes. We also have an update on Tennessee four-star tight end commit Carson Sneed, who has not shut the door on Miami just yet. In the 2027 class, Milton (Ga.) 2027 tight end Grant Haviland, who is a former teammate of Miami quarterback Luke Nickel, talks about his recent offer from the Hurricanes and more.

Staying in the 2027 class, we have an update on one of the top prospects in the class, DeSoto (Tex.) four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster, who is the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2027 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

We also have updates on a pair of Sunshine State four-star prospects: Homestead (Fla.) South Dade four-star defensive back Tedarius Hughes and St. Augustine (FL) four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo, so make sure to check those out.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

“It’s just a different feeling,” Wingo said when asked about his time in Coral Gables. “Miami is Miami, and it’s just a different feeling. I was just super excited to see them. Coach Beard is my guy, and I talk about him a lot. Always a good time being able to hang out with coach Beard, (Shannon) Dawson, and coach (Cristobal). Those are really my guys.”
