WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We take a close look at the portal additions for the Canes, ranking them in order of impact. So don’t miss that.

We also continue our annual 30 for 30 countdown with the team’s top 30 players who played 30 or more reps. Check out our latest players on the countdown: No. 17 Ethan O’Connor, a tie at No. 16 between Xavier Lucas and Charles Brantley, and No. 15 CJ Daniels.

In baseball we have your preseason update with coach JD Arteaga with practices beginning.

There also was plenty of recruiting news, including our coverage of Miami targets at the Pylon 7v7 Tampa. We had a notebook from the event on those targets, and also had a feature on Daytona Beach (Fla.) Spruce Creek DL Freddie Wilson, who now has an OV to UM set.

The Hurricanes’ staff, led by head coach Mario Cristobal, stopped at Nixa (Mo.) High School Friday afternoon to see No. 1 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, a Five-Star Plus+ recruit and consensus top offensive tackle in the cycle. Find out how that went.

Another update: Five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys is one of the most sought-after prospects in the country, and the elite 2026 pass catcher announced his top-12 schools, which included the Miami Hurricanes. We catch up wth him.

Miami has begun recruiting Jackson (Minn.) Jackson County Central Senior four-star ATH Roman Voss, the No. 85 overall prospect and No. 5 ATH in the 2026 class. Find out where things stand there.

Theodore (Ala.) sent one player to Miami two years ago in 2024 four-star linebacker signee Cam Pruitt. Now, the Hurricanes are capturing the attention of another Theodore star – JJ Bush. He visited for Junior Day and updates his status.

Red Oak (Tx.) four-star 2026 receiver Brayden Robinson says he was “shocked” by a UM offer and talks about where the Canes fit in.

Milton (Fla.) Pace four-star offensive lineman Grant Wise is one of the Canes top priorities in the 2026 class and we have an update with him as well.

IMG Academy four-star 2026 interior offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr has received plenty of attention from Miami’s staff between phone calls and text messages with coaches and an in-school visit from offensive line coach Alex Mirabal last week. And off an unofficial visit alongside fellow IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay last weekend, he knows he wants to see more soon.

And we have an update with Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood day 2026 three-star prospect DJ Williams. He visited recently and shares where things stand.

Plus Miami WR Xavier Restrepo has been coaching his 7-on-7 team in SFE Team X, which is a 12u team based out of South Florida. Restrepo talks about that.

There also was the struggling Miami basketball team’s ovetime loss at Cal – we had your recap of that.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“My dad played there, so I always grew up watching them, and I like them as a team. Coach Mirabal is really good at developing the offensive line, which is really cool, and with Coach Cristobal also being an offensive lineman, he’s really big in the o-line room, and he knows what it’s like. He knows it’s very important to have a great offensive line, and he knows how to recruit that position.”
