WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

While the Miami Hurricanes defense is getting its own makeover from the top down, including replacing defensive coordinator Lance Guidry off a poor 2024 showing, the offense will also look a lot different in 2025 even with coordinator Shannon Dawson returning. We take a closer look.

Also don’t miss Matt Shodell’s opinion article on whether Carson Beck and/or Quinn Ewers would be worth an exorbitant amount of money if they go into the portal … as Miami’s still seeking its 2025 portal QB.

In recruiting?

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal stopped by Miami (Fla.) Southridge Monday morning to check up on 2026 interior offensive lineman Ryan Miret. Find out what Miret is saying about that.

Another visit, from UM’s RB coach Matt Merritt? That was to Marianna (Fla.) 2026 four-star running back Amari Clemons, who shares his thoughts.

And don’t miss our Inside The Lines feature with five-star target Immanuel Iheanacho. And we take a closer look at the Miami Hurricanes signees and targets that are on the Navy All-American game roster.

There’s also a hoops update with interim coach Bill Courtney off two tough losses, including where things stand with Nijel Pack’s injury.

Plus we have your Canes in the NFL feature with stats and highlights from the final week of the regular season.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

DB transfer portal additions … Posted by Darion Powell

I like the additions. Brought in talented kids with experience that will compete with each other. I do think we need a few Dline and a thumping LB somewhere down the line to get more depth and experience.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Coach Cristobal is a great guy with a great character. I feel like I say this a lot, but having an offensive line head coach, it doesn’t get much better than that. In practice, obviously he’s going to check everybody, but with the offensive line, he’s able to critique and give it to you how it is and not try and sugarcoat things. With him knowing as much as he knows, he can be a great resource for the players there and the players coming in.”
