In recruiting?

We catch up with an Ohio State commit, Newberry (Fla.) four-star defensive lineman Jarquez Carter. Among the group he is still considering is the Miami Hurricanes, who have let it be known that the South Florida native is wanted in Coral Gables and that they will not stop recruiting him until it’s all said and done. He’s planning a Cane visit, so read about that.

Plus we have an update with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas top-50 safety Justice Fitzpatrick. Find out what he’s saying about where UM fits into his picture.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Most important was look at entire first half of the season with humility and acknowledge the things that must improve to continue to find a way to get to 1-0 each week. It stems from the fundamentals of football as the season goes on, you can’t allow them to deteriorate. So blocking, tackling, throwing, catching, ball security, ball destruction are always at a premium. Communication and eye discipline and discipline not only from a football and execution standpoint, but self-control, right? Those are things that were not only addressed but practiced, hammered away at.”
