MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
The Worst Thing Mario Can do Is … Posted by Claboo
Try and build this program from the diagram of Alabama and their X’s and O’s, which is what I think he’s attempting as a HC. He’s trying to emulate what Saban has built there in Tuscaloosa, with the big bodied power Oline and run first concept.
Miami doesn’t have the bodies for that style of football and frankly never did, even in our Natty days. Miami has always been a program built on speed and aggressiveness at every position. And with today’s pass happy offenses and athletic aggressive defensive players, that bully ball style of play will only work if you have the big elite players up front and the big, fast RBs carrying the rock, in addition to very good WRs posing a threat, none of which the U has ever had.
Miami has always been built on speed, aggressiveness and attitude
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I don’t want to make excuses for the team or coaching staff, but these aren’t their recruits for the most part. They are still trying to figure a lot of this stuff out. There’s not a lot of depth they have. I know that coach Cristobal and the rest of the staff know what it takes. It’s not going to be an overnight fix, it’s a process.”
