WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Stay tuned at 8 p.m. tonight for CaneSport Live as Gary Ferman, Matt Shodell and Bruce Warner will talk all things Miami Hurricanes with fans.

And be sure to check out what coach Mario Cristobal was talking about upon further review of the crazy win at Cal.

We also have your midseason grading analysis of a running back position that’s been hit-and-miss … but perhaps has gotten some unfair criticism.

Plus we break down what we’ve learned off the Cal game about this overall Miami offense, so don’t miss that.

In recruiting?

Tight ends coach Cody Woodiel stopped in Ohio Monday morning to check up on Washington Court House (Ohio) Miami Trace four-star 2026 offensive lineman Adam Guthrie. We have an update with Guthrie talking about that and where things stand.

And don’t miss our latest Inside The Lines feature, this one with Orlando (Fla.) Jones four-star Miami quarterback commit Dereon Coleman’s personal trainer Baylin Trujillo as well as Coleman’s father, Edward.

Another update: Miami (Fla.) Central three-star linebacker commit Ezekiel Marcelin shares his thoughts on Miami’s undefeated start to the season … and his own team. So check that out.

Plus we catch up with the coach of Miami (Fla.) Columbus four-star safety and Hurricanes commit Bryce Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald has been given a few tall tasks in his senior high school football season, and he hasn’t had a problem answering the call.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Who Else Kept Thinking We Have a Chance No Matter What The Situation Was? … Posted by Silver97

  • I mean down 25.
  • 3rd and 20
  • 4th and 11
  • 92 yards with a minute forty

There were a couple of other 4th downs long 3rd downs and we came up with them almost everytime. Unreal!

“We have to clean a lot of stuff up. There’s a lot of routine stuff that’s head-scratching. Over the last couple of weeks there’s technique and fundamental and discipline issues, aspects which have deteriorated whether it be wear and tear, injury, there should be no excuse, you have to find away to tighten up those things. And that’s what this bye week is for. We have to attack and address those things while resting up the team. The bye week – we have to do a great job using this bye week because we have some really good games coming up. We don’t want these crazy nailbiters all the time. We feel we can be good enough to take control of games in the second half. It just so happens sometimes you have to find a way.”
