WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Stay tuned tonight for The Lamar Thomas Show at 8 p.m., which promises – as always – to be informative and entertaining.

And if you missed CaneSport Live last night, it’s not too late to tune in as Gary Ferman, Matt Shodell and Bruce Warner talked all things Canes with fans.

Also check out our analysis on several key areas that Miami needs to shore up with the second bye week here. Coming off a loss there’s a lot that needs to improve. There’s also our weekly Canes in the NFL feature with stats and highlights.

In recruiting we start our coverage with a closer look at several Florida and Florida State commitments with an inside perspective on where things stand with UM possibly landing them given the issues at those other in-state programs.

Also don’t miss what Tampa (Fla.) Armwood four-star 2025 linebacker Kellen Wiley is saying about UM with the Dec. 4 Early Signing Period approaching.

And find out the latest with Hurricanes running backs coach Matt Merritt making a run at Aledo (Tx.) 2026 four-star running back Raycine Guillory.

We also catch up with Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military School four-star 2025 EDGE commit Herbert Scroggins III. He may have fallen just short of his coach’s lofty goal of 20 sacks in his nine-game regular season, but the No. 271 overall prospect still did enough to finish as the state’s regular-season sack leader and we get his thoughts.

Another update: Last month Miami Hurricanes assistant offensive line coach Ed Pata made a stop at Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy to check out a handful of prospects at the powerhouse program. Among the group, 2026 offensive tackle Edward Baker caught his eye and landed an offer from the Hurricanes on October 8. Now Baker is looking to visit next weekend and updates his status.

Plus we have an update with Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star safety Hylton “Drake” Stubbs. He was one of the many Miami commits tuned into the Hurricanes matchup against Georgia Tech and gives his take on that and more.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

“It was a hard loss because I felt like we had a couple of chances to win it. We’re definitely coming back next week working harder. It was bad that we broke the streak, but we still can make the playoffs.”
