WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, if you missed The Lamar Thomas Show last night, it’s not too late to tune in. Be sure to check that out.

There’s also an analysis of where QB Cam Ward now stands in the Heisman race, and why perhaps he still has a pretty good shot to win it.

With Miami in a good spot for the ACC title game, we also have a closer look at the only other Hurricanes team that played there … and how the two teams compare. Is this year’s team significantly different than the 2017 version? We analyze that.

In recruiting we have our weekly Tracking The Commits feature, with stats and highlights.

And the big news, of course, was the flip to Miami by Los Angeles Oaks Christian four-star EDGE Hayden Lowe. He had been committed to Southern Cal since June 9. He shares his thoughts on what went into the decision. And we also have an analysis of what his addition means for Miami recruiting, plus a coach’s take item with a different perspective on Lowe.

We also go Inside The Lines with Miami 4-star commit Max Buchanan, so learn more about him with Izubee Charles chatting with him.

There’s an update with Miami commit Jaden Wilkerson as well. He reaffirms his commitment to Hurricanes with signing day approaching so be sure to check out everything he’s talking about.

Plus we talk with IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay. He has already emerged as one of the most coveted linemen in the 2026 class, and he isn’t hiding his interest in Miami.

In basketball it also was signing day yesterday, and we had your update on Miami adding Tampa (Fla.) Sagemnont School four-star shooting guard Matthew Able and Academy (Ct.) four-star center Ben Ahmed.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Biggest letdown of the Mario era so far … Posted by Billyboi99

Has been his assistant coaching selections. From his time at FIU where he had some big time guys (Coley, Geoff Collins) to his time at Oregon (McClendon, Moorehead) I imagined his staff here would always be elite.

He has struggled BIG TIME in this area as it looks like there will be more turnover again this off-season to fix some issues on the defensive side.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Hayden Lowe Miami Hurricanes

“I arrived at the decision by thinking about the past as a recruiting process as a whole from when they first met me, when they first offered me – they’ve always been on me, adamant about how much they want me, how much they love me and what person they could turn me into. They have a lot of great people on the staff – D-Train (Dennis Smith), (Mario) Cristobal, coach (Jason) Taylor. They can turn me into a great man. And when I took the visit it just validated everything that they were speaking to me about on the phone. I was caught up (before that) in staying at home, staying where it would be most marketable for me rather than where I’m most loved. And I feel like I’m most loved in Miami.”
