Another update: Last week Miami running backs coach Matt Merritt used the Hurricanes bye week to expand his 2026 recruiting board as he offered a handful of tailbacks in next year’s class. Among that group was Dallas (Texas) Lake Highlands four-star running back Christian Rhodes. His thoughts?

Plus we catch up with four-star interior offensive line commit SJ Alofaituli as signing day is around the corner.

And in basketball we catch up with Jim Larranaga for some team talk with the season underway. So don’t miss that, either.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Room for improvement … Posted by eddiemac66

We have games where we barely threw to TEs. Why is that? Hard to say there’s been real improvement there. Not the best sample size. Badly used.

RBs have been decent but not sensational. At least not on a consistent basis. Our OL doesn’t run block well and that’s inhibited RB performance.

WRs are just OK. When your possession receiver is truly your very best receiver it doesn’t say much about your receiver room, does it? Hugely inconsistent.

Obviously when this offense is clicking it’s exciting. But our coaches have stated it can be even better and I believe that. Our OL hasn’t been performing all that well and that should concern.

At 9-1 you have to be happy and I am. But there’s room for big improvement most everywhere.

“I’m just very excited and blessed for the opportunity to sign with Miami. I’m blessed for the opportunity to be able to make my impact on the field and just develop as a player on the team and just to know all of the guys on the team. I’m just very excited for this opportunity. I’m blessed, and overall I can’t wait. I’m excited.”
