WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, if you missed The Lamar Thomas Show last night, it’s not too late to tune in. Be sure to check that out. And watch U Bet CaneSport with renowned local handicapper Lee Sterling breaking down the University of Miami-Wake Forest game and other top college contests this weekend.

Plus we catch up with Cam Ward and other players for their thoughts heading into the game Saturday vs. the Demon Deacons, and have our closer look at the upcoming game.

In recruiting?

It starts with our update with Tampa (Fla.) Armwood top-100 uncommitted linebacker Kellen Wiley. He knows he wants to announce a commitment before the Early Signing Period Dec. 4 … and is taking his official visit to UM this weekend.

Another update is with Leesburg (Fla.) Tavares four-star 2026 linebacker Izayia Williams. He isn’t ready to commit to another school just yet after decommitting from Florida State earlier this month, but Miami is in the mix for the top-50 prospect and No. 2 linebacker in next year’s class. Get his take on where things stand.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

ACC Is Likely Looking At Only 1 Team In The CFB Playoff … Posted by advarkas

The only way I see the ACC getting 2 teams in the CFB Playoffs is if Miami finishes the regular season top-6 (most likely winning last 2 games) and then loses the ACC CG in a close competitive game dropping Miami to #9-#11, while SMU/Clemson wins the ACC.

No way either SMU or Clemson can lose the ACC CG and get in the CFB Playoff. All or nothing for those 2 teams…

I think Miami got a good ranking this week at #8 – gives the Canes a great opportunity to move up 3-4 spots over the next 2 weeks going into the ACC CG.

Pre-Season rankings absolutely matter when you look at home teams only drop a few spots because they lost to a preceived “highly ranked team”… Happens in the SEC every year.

“It’s going to be an emotional one, last one in The Rock. But the main thing is just winning. We have control of our own destiny, have to go 1-0 each week. … I’m going to miss playing in The Rock with all these amazing fans, my teammates, in front of my family. But the most important thing is winning.”
