In recruiting?

Nixa (Mo.) Five-Star Plus+ 2026 offensive tackle and No. 2 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell came in from Missouri for the game, and the Hurricanes made a strong impression on the No. 1 offensive tackle in next year’s class during his first visit to South Florida. Find out about that.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Great Win Against A Good Team … Posted by advarkas

I saw this Duke team first hand against SMU last week. Duke should have been 7-1 coming into this game. Malik Murphy was a high 4 start recruit and Duke is highly competitive – I can’t stand Manny but he’s done a damn good job with that Duke team. Had this Canes team on the ropes for 40 minutes.

thought the adjustments at halftime to go more Zone on defense was pivotal, and Martinez does such an awesome job of grinding out 3-4 yards all the time to help with down and distance. He and Fletcher are such a formidable 1-2 combo at RB.

Cam was and always has been special. Who gives a shvt about the INT throw across his body. He had 400 yards and 5 TDs. If you think Cam Ward makes bad decisions then you’re old or not paying attention or both. He’s the most talented QB in Miami history. Maybe Jim Kelly who was recruited to play LB at Penn State under JoPa had that kind of physical alpha presence but Ward probably is #1 for me.

Truly special to see.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Really love the way our team closed out the game after a fast start, and then kind of slowed down a little bit. Credit to Duke, them, the players and their staff for having a good plan to slow us down some. But a lot of it, also, we have got to do a better job. We had some miscues that were uncharacteristic and just regrouped at halftime. The decision was simple; let’s play Hurricane football and play as a team and play together and put forth our best effort and execute at a high level. [I’m] really proud of our guys for that second-half performance and taking control of the game and being 1-0 on the day.”
