WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

The Miami Hurricanes haven’t enjoyed much bowl success in recent memory. The team’s lost five bowls in a row and have a 1-11 record in the last 12 dating back to 2008. No, that’s not a typo. Now the team looks to get in the win column on Saturday, and we have a closer look at just what kind of challenge Iowa State poses in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

In recruiting?

Although Chesapeake (Virginia) Oscar Smith’s Travis Johnson hasn’t visited Miami since the summer, the Hurricanes have remained a top program for the 2026 four-star wide receiver. A big reason for that is Miami wide receiver Kevin Beard, who has made the Virginia native feel wanted in Coral Gables since offering him. Get Johnson’s thoughts.

We also catch up with Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, who included the Miami Hurricanes in his top 10 schools and visited this month.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

We didn’t see a lot of him. But what I did see gave me confidence. There is no denying his heart and will to win. Had he not been hurt, I felt he would have led the team back to beat trailerhassee. And of course had that happened his bandwagon would be much fuller.

“Right now they need guys. And I feel like I’m one of those guys who can step in and really make an impact.”
