WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
It’s somewhat the calm before the storm with signing day tomorrow, and we’ll have you fully covered with signings as they are confirmed. So be sure to check back early and often for all that.
Stay tuned this morning for thoughts from coach Mario Cristobal.
And stay tuned at 8 p.m. tonight for CaneSport Live as Gary Ferman, Matt Shodell and Bruce Warner will talk all things Miami Hurricanes with fans, and we’ll have feedback from players after today’s practice.
This morning you can also check out Matt Shodell’s column taking a closer look at the CFP poll that comes out tonight and why it will tell us everything we need to know about Miami’s playoff situation.
We also caught up with Jim Larranaga and players as we look for answers off the basketball team’s horrendous start to the season.

And with 2025 signing day around the corner check out the latest as Miami is continuing to fight hard for Five-Star Plus+ LSU commit DJ Pickett. He has remained committed to the Tigers since late July, in a recruitment expected to continue until Pickett’s papers are submitted during the first day of the Early Signing Period Wednesday afternoon. There is not believed to be another major contender for Pickett outside of the Hurricanes and Tigers.
Another update is on Tampa (Fla.) Armwood four-star 2025 linebacker Kellen Wiley. Does Miami have a good shot there? Find out the latest.
We also have an update today with a top 2026 recruit that Miami’s chasing – Waukee (Iowa) four-star 2026 tight end Evan Jacobson visited his share of schools this fall including UM, and Miami stood out to him.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
I’ve been critical of CMC … Posted by Xtasy424
Because everyone (canes fans , non canes fans, media, recruits ,etc) sees the product on the field has regressed throughout the year , because the questionable calls he makes during the game , and because our class is falling apart …. But in spite all of that , he’s not going anywhere so I find myself bitching and crying when nothing is going to get done about it . So I am gonna to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him one more year to get this right . I mean this guy played in a U uniform and this guy grew up in Miami so if anything he’s probably just as hurt as we are if not more …
But If by this time next year , we’re the same soft *** team , and he’s not keeping elite S Florida talent to stay home , and we lose a game or 2 because of his bone headed game day calls , and we’re not playing in the acc ship , and not contending for the playoffs and he keeps looking like a meat head on the sidelines (well he’s still gonna look a meathead) then I say fly the planes by the end of next year. But for now I’m done bitching about the situation now and back to supporting the program because in the end that’s what we do when you bleed orange And green.
