WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Of course, we had you fully covered from Saturday’s bowl game with Gary Ferman’s column, post-game interviews with Mario Cristobal and players, our position by position grading column, key takeaways from the game, Pro Football Focus grades, Gary Ferman answering all your post-game questions on the message board, our game analysis story and much more.

There also was our look at portal QBs and the need for one given what we saw on Saturday.

Plus we have a closer look at next year’s football schedule … and how different it is from the one Miami faced this year.

And don’t miss our roster analysis … with the needs that remain.

There’s also an analysis of Emory Williams’ play off film from the debacle in the second half on Saturday.

And Tulane TE Alex Bauman says he will visit Miami Jan. 2, so learn more about that situation.

In recruiting we are on hand with your recruiting notebook from the Under Armour All-America media day, so be sure to check out what top prospects were saying there about the Canes. We also have a feature from Orlando on 2026 No. 1 prospect Jackson Cantwell and his UM recruitment.

And Buford (Ga.) 2026 4-star safety Nassir McCoy is high on the Canes as 2024 comes to a close – we catch up with him.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

This where we are at in year 3 … posted by YborCityIbis

In 3 years, Manny Diaz, who was unceremoniously fired and is absolutely loathed by the members of this site:

Overall record 21-15
against FBS teams with winning record 10-9
against ranked teams 3-5

Mario Cristobal, the savior of the program (per Canesport), given more resources than 90% of FBS teams:

Overall record 22-16
against FBS teams with winning record 9-15
against ranked teams 1-8

What are we doing here?

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

When we win as a team we win as a team. When we lose, we lose as a team, as well. When you look at certain aspects of our game, yeah there, were some issues. Sometimes it’s communication and sometimes it’s alignment. And you know, obviously it’s nowhere near where what is the standard for us. Now, when we go in there and as a team and we are in the middle of a game, we don’t harp on that. We don’t blame. We just going forward and we try to make things work. But yeah, there were some issues, and it’s not acceptable.
