WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
We had you fully covered in basketball against Duke last night, with game coverage and also the big side story of Blue Devils assistant Jai Lucas expeced to be Miami’s next head coach. You can read all about that.
Don’t miss what Mario Cristobal had to say yesterday, either, as he talked about Carson Beck’s recovery, the team’s progress/potential and Cam Ward’s No. 1 pick potential.
We also continue our pre-spring football coverage. You can check out our prediction for the biggest surprise offensive player of the spring, and we also have our latest message board mania feature, this one tackling whether Miami should follow a starting trend and turn the spring game into a closed scrimmage.
In recruiting news?

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Defensive tackle … Posted by Bradcane
I think d tackle depth is better than advertised. Horton could be a very serviceable back up if healthy. I thought Moten was one of our better defensive players last year and would be a solid starter (even better back up of Scott passed him) and Bain and mesiedor could always kick inside if necessary. Bain should probably move inside but that’s a different discussion… I would expect Malik Bryant to be a candidate for a break out year with another year in the weight room under his belt and wouldn’t be surprised if one of the younger d ends could come in as pass rush specialists on passing situations (if we needed Bain or mesiedor to kick inside).
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“They need a pass rusher, they need someone to get after the quarterback. I think we have the most important position on defense because we can mess with the quarterback every single play. …Every single play we have a chance to knock the ball out and cause a turnover, so they just need a pass rusher and they’re looking forward to getting me on campus and showing me that.”
