WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Be sure to check out everything Miami’s new defensive coaches were talking about yesterday afternoon – Zac Etheridge, Will Harris and Damione Lewis all shared their insight as UM looks for a big turnaround in its defensive play from a year ago.

With spring practice starting Monday we also take a deeper dive into an area that has to be emphasized and cohesive – team chemistry. With so many transfers every year, is that something that’s being overlooked?

There’s also our continuing spring prospectus looks at the freshmen early enrollees, their backgrounds and how they project at Miami in Year 1. So check out our feature on Demetrius Campbell.

In recruiting?

The Miami Hurricanes dipped into Alabama and offered Muscle Shoals (Ala.) three-star EDGE Kamhariyan Johnson, who is starting to garner a lot of attention from several Power 4 programs across the the country. Find out where things stand there.

We also catch up with IMG Academy four-star 2026 defensive tackle Preston Carey, who has more than 50 offers and has the Canes pushing.

And we have an update with St. Augustine (FL) four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo, who has locked in a Miami official visit.

Also be sure to check out our baseball preview of the Florida series, as the revamped Canes roster faces their first true test.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Who will be No. 2 QB? … Posted by Matahungwa

Nickel moves to #2 by the start of the season, but my question about EW transferring is where does he go? Unless he is willing to go to a FCS school, I doubt people are banging down the door.
