WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

The Miami Hurricanes will return to the practice field tomorrow morning after a week off for spring break, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have plenty of news for you.

We’ll start with our Message Board Mania series continuing. This morning we look at the best-case scenario record and worst-case scenario record for the Canes … and why. We also over the weekend broke down fans discussing some aspects of the transfer portal and UM in regard to that. So don’t miss that analysis off fans’ opinions on our message boards. On3’s J.D. PicKell also sums up what he’s learned about the team from the first week of drills.

Plus don’t miss our feature on former Miami RB great Clinton Portis, who is now in the college coaching game. The Canes, of course, hold a special place in his heart.

We also continue to bring you plenty of recruiting news, including weekend visit updates.

That includes Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star 2026 defensive tackle Tomuhini Topui. He hadn’t visited Miami’s campus before Saturday and coming off his two hours on Miami’s campus Saturday afternoon he’ll be returning. Also visiting over the weekend was Tampa Bay Tech (Fla.) three-star interior offensive lineman Canon Pickett, who has strong ties to UM but Clemson rumors that persist. He addressed that. IMG Academy four-star 2026 interior offensive lineman Breck Kolojay breaks down his time on campus this weekend and has two more UM visits scheduled. Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher’s School On300 offensive lineman Darius Gray was another visitor, and it’s safe to say his expectations were met—and even exceeded.

As for upcoming visits?

Well a top visitor on campus today is Nixa (Mo.) Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle and No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell. He is in Miami and will also attend tomorrow’s spring practice. So don’t miss what he’s saying.

Another top visitor tomorrow will be Jonesboro (Ga.) four-star safety Cortez Redding, and we have his thoughts heading into it.

Duncanville (Tx.) three-star 2026 tight end Zachery Turner locked in his Miami official visit several weeks ago, and he feels good about where the Hurricanes sit.

Another visitor coming up is Columbus (Ohio) Grandview Heights four-star 2026 running back Henry Ohlinger. Get his thoughts.

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna three-star 2026 slot receiver Jasen Lopez is continuing to feel good about the Hurricanes after another visit to Coral Gables. Find out where things stand there.

A June official visitor is Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park four-star receiver Corey Barber, and we have his take.

Another update: Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2026 four-star EDGE Daniel Norman’s recruitment is still picking up after his latest rankings boost in the last On300 update, and Miami is among the teams standing out to the newly-minted blue-chip prospect.

Miami also became one of the latest programs to offer fast-rising 2026 pass catcher Jordan Clay, a four-star wide receiver from San Antonio (Texas) James Madison. He’s looking to visit.

Plus we talk with the trainer of Mineral City (Ohio) Tuscarawas Valley four-star offensive tackle and recent Miami commit Ben Congdon. Find out what Darren Gammell is saying.

The baseball team also had a series at top 20 Wake Forest with ACC play starting, getting swept, and you can read about that.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I had the best coach on Greentree, and that was Coach Soldinger. Since my hiring, it hasn’t been about X’s and O’s—it’s been about philosophy, winning the locker room, and helping these players understand who I am as a person while also pushing them to succeed beyond football. That’s something Coach Soldinger instilled in us—being a man, being responsible, and being accountable.”
