WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
The Hurricanes return to the practice field this morning off spring break and we’ll have you fully covered with video of the day’s work, news and notes from practice and what the team is talking about afterward. So stay tuned for that. We also go back over all our coverage of spring practice so far, so you can check all that out.
In recruiting?
We have an update with Nixa (Mo.) Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle and No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Cantwell. He was already interested in Miami before he arrived on campus Tuesday to watch a Hurricanes practice and shares where things stand now coming off the trip.
And don’t miss our update with Buford (Ga.) 4-star safety Tyriq Green, who visited Coral Gables on Tuesday and now has an official visit scheduled with the Canes from May 30 to June 1.
There’s a preview of today’s visit from Denver (Co.) Mullen 2026 three-star tight end Mason Bonner as well.

Another update: Last week, the Miami Hurricanes sent Auburn (Ala.) four-star linebacker commit JaMichael Garrett over a dozen handwritten letters, expressing their appreciation and admiration. While that gesture may seem small to some, it was very significant to the 2026 prospect, who is high on the Hurricanes and set to visit. Find out about that.
AAnaheim (Calif.) Servite three-star 2026 tight end Luke Sorensen also updates his status. His stock has continued to skyrocket since the start of the new year as offers have poured in. Miami has remained as high on his list as any program and he’s visiting this week.
Plus we have a baseball feature on Miami’s top hitter, transfer arrival Jake Ogden. He’s battled a lot to get to this point, so don’t miss reading his story.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

No way we go 12-0. The schedule is tougher this year and we’re simply not there yet.
The goal this year is to make the playoffs. Then win 1-2 games there. That would make every Canes fan happy and satisfied.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I’m pumped for this visit because Miami has a very good history with tight ends. They’re a good football program. I’m just excited to watch some good football, first of all. I’ve been watching guys like Elija Lofton at (Bishop) Gorman for awhile now because we played Bishop Gorman one time and I watched him, so it’s kind of cool to see ‘these guys are homegrown, almost.’ I’m excited to see the Coral Gables and Miami area and all of that stuff, see what the nightlife’s about, see what the beach is like, so I’m just excited for it all.”
