WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Miami practiced yesterday … but it was a closed session. So the team will return to the field tomorrow.
We still have plenty of news for you.
WR Xavier Restrepo tells us what happened with his Pro Day 40 times that didn’t go the way he wanted. So don’t miss that inside look.
Plus during Pro Day several former Canes were in the building, watching as the next wave of Pro Canes from UM took the next step toward the NFL. One of those in attendance was former Miami and longtime NFL offensive lineman Jon Feliciano, and we get his perspective.
This morning we also continue our Message Board Mania series, this time looking at fans’ perspectives of QB Carson Beck and trying to separate reality from fiction.
In recruiting?
Well, ast week the past and future of Miami Hurricanes football collided as Orlando (Fla.) Jones four-star quarterback commit Dereon Coleman and Cam Ward worked out in Miami alongside some of South Florida’s top high school prospects. Get Coleman’s perspective.

Another QB update is with four-star 2027 quarterback and On300 recruit Peyton Houston, who has locked in a spring visit to Miami.
Miami has faced plenty of stiff competition for coveted interior offensive lineman Da’Ron Parks, but the Hurricanes will have their chance to make an in-person impression when they host the four-star prospect March 29 for a recruiting pool party. Get his thoughts on where things stand.
Plus we catch up with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2027 defensive back Zayden Gamble, who has been no stranger to Miami’s campus since receiving his offer last spring.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Give Beck his shot! … Posted by Kbthomas79
Beck receives a lot of criticism on this board, but why? Last year, he was blamed for having a subpar season, yet he doesn’t get enough credit for the excellent season he had the year before. It’s worth noting that his subpar season was still better than 80% of the quarterbacks we’ve had in the last 20 years. During his great season, which put him in the running as a possible number one pick, people attributed his success to the defense and surrounding talent. But what if that team had a less capable quarterback instead of Beck? How far could they have gone? The truth is, Beck is a talented quarterback who has proven himself in important games. Personally, I am happy to have his talent and experience leading us this year.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I just want to see how coaches coach their players. That’s a big thing for me, because if I’m going somewhere I’ll be playing for that coach every single day. So I kind of want to see his relationships with his players and how his players listen to him and react when he’s coaching.”
