WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We had feedback from players over the weekend following the team’s Saturday practice. And the team will return to the practice field again tomorrow.

Meanwhile, there was plenty of news from a huge barbecue visit weekend for top prospects. So don’t miss all those updates, including sights and sounds from the event including interviews, and a roundup of the news. There are numerous individual players we had updates with as well off the visits: 5-star lineman Lamar Brown, top-50 EDGE Jake Kreul, 4-star RB Derrek Cooper, On300 defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland and 4-star OT Keenyi Pepe as well as the big commitment news from Joel Ervin. He shares what went into his decision to be a Cane off his visit and we have your analysis of his play.

On top of that we had more updates for you.

We catch up with IMG Academy four-star linebacker Amarri Irvin. He is already one of the most coveted national recruits in the 2027 class, and after visiting Miami he knows he’ll be back.

Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca 2027 defensive tackle Jamar Thompson landed a Miami offer and updates where things stand. We also catch up with the recipient of another new offer – Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Western 2027 four-star safety Bryce Williams.

Plus Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward athlete A’mir Sears is one of South Florida’s rising stars, and the Miami Hurricanes are making the 2028 prospect feel wanted in Coral Gables. Find out about his visit and thoughts.

There’s also basketball portal news. North Florida sophomore guard Jasai Miles has had over a dozen programs reach out in recent days, including the Miami Hurricanes and their new head coach, Jai Lucas. He updates where things stand.

In baseball you can check out the results/recaps of the team’s series at North Carolina from over the weekend as well.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

I’m not saying Santana Moss is in the room but… Posted by Trust

All the receivers are looking good. Ooh la la. We do not need a slot (unless for numbers). Ray Ray n Toney both look smooth. And the more I watch Toney…yeah I am buying the hype. Jo Jo is looking legit. Really smooth. Upshaw n Ny Carr have ability. I’m not even sure we need CJ. Idk why I’m not seeing video on Chance…he was a stud in HS n we fought hard to keep him. And of all the taller TEs… I think Luke looks really good. Might be a surprise talent like Shockey was. I’m also not buying the QBa are garbage take. Not saying they are studs, but I think they are legit D1 QBs. We have a talented roster. Receivers definitely gonna be a strength next year. Being young does not negate being good.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Neil Gershman – Zooba Images

“I kept up with him when he was at Minnesota, seeing what he can do as a coach – I’m watching film, seeing how he handles things. I love it. I think he’s a great coach.”
