WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, of course yesterday was Miami’s opening spring practice, and we had you fully covered. There was video of the day’s work, news and notes from the practice field and post-practice updates with coach Mario Cristobal and players. So don’t miss all that coverage.

We also have recruiting news for you, including updates on several practice visitors. And, of course, we had your breaking news on the Ben Congdon commitment last night, including an analysis of just what UM’s landed in the talented lineman.

The recruiting race is beginning to heat up for Hattiesburg (Miss.) five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys, and on Monday morning the Miami Hurricanes hosted the coveted pass catcher for their first spring practice. Get his take.

Miami (Fla.) Central four-star 2026 linebacker Karon Maycock may have committed to Florida State last month, but the Hurricanes are remaining very alive for the On300 prospect … and he shares where things stand off his Monday UM visit.

Another visitor was Miami (Fla.) Northwestern 2026 four-star receiver Calvin Russell, so find out where things stand there.

Miami recently offered Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity Catholic four-star EDGE David Jacobs … who is Mark Richt’s Godson … and we update where things stand there.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Miami’s defense … Posted by CANESCANESCANESCANES

Miami was 27th in yards allowed last year

70th in PPG

Tied for 18th in Sacks

how about top 10 in yards, top 10 in PPG and top 5 in sacks would be a good season on defense

those numbers would be a massive change

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Mario Cristobal Syracuse

“We expect some type of action from the latter part of spring ball (from him). We do expect him to be able to do some things. Already able to hand the football off, go through the motion of actual slinging it. We’ll take a couple of more weeks and see where we’re at.”
